Let's Make a Stencil Tote Bag with Bengala Mud Dyes - Aug 15 - with Chiaki O'Brien

$60.00

Let's make a one-of-a-kind tote bag yourself using Bengala mud dyes from Japan and stencils.

Made in Japan, Bengala dyes are made from soil and are environmentally safe and fun to use. Learn the history and cultural significance of this unique dye form. Then choose your favorite stencil(s) and color(s) from 12 different mud dye colors to design your tote bag.The instructor will bring stencils and even some are from Japan! for you to choose from. We will make the dyes into paste and dab it onto the bag. We use hair dryers and iron to set the dyes. You are welcome to bring your favorite stencils if you have some. You can also design without stencils as well if you wish. If you have extra time, you are welcome to stencil another tote bag or other items you brought such as t-shirt and fabric (they need to be light color).
