In 2024, we visited Bonifacio, Corsica, and I captured an Issohadore taking a moment during the Naviganti Festival to check his phone. This festival, held annually in October, celebrates the cultural and historical ties between Corsica and Sardinia and features traditional music, dance, and costumes from both islands. The Issohadores, along with the Mamuthones, are traditional masked figures from Mamoiada, Sardinia. The contrast between the traditional attire and the modern act of using a smartphone was striking.
