I love creating mosaics using Italian smalti, a dense glass with brilliant colors. My goal for this piece was to capture the essence of fruits and vegetables focusing on the reflection of light and the 3D effect of each piece in the basket. The basket was a beast all of its own where I studied color values and varied the colors significantly. You will find brown and tan but also orange, red, blue, and purple.
