"Green Glasses No. 2" by Emily Landberg

"Green Glasses No. 2" by Emily Landberg
This piece began with a simple curiosity: what happens when an everyday utility accessory is treated like an subject worthy of reverence? By isolating and repeating the familiar shape of a pair of glasses, I wanted to elevate an object we often overlook into something iconic and visually commanding.
The bright, saturated colors push the glasses beyond their practical function and into the realm of expressive fine art. Their repetition creates a rhythm that feels both playful and deliberate, inviting viewers to pause and reconsider the beauty embedded in ordinary design. I’m interested in that moment of recognition—when something functional becomes symbolic, and a common object transforms into a bold visual statement.
Ultimately, this work celebrates the aesthetics of the everyday. It asks us to look again at the tools and accessories that quietly shape our lives and to see them not just for what they do, but for the visual stories they can tell.
