“Reclaiming History”

Some of the sugar plantations in the Caribbean have survived colonizations, revolts and hurricanes since the 17th century. Also resisting the sometimes harsh habitats are tropical plants surrounding these old historical sites. Lush green growth takes root in the cracks and crevices of the ruins as if to proclaim, “The seeds of our ancestors are here. We are part of these islands.
