This fun fireflies painting can also glow in the dark. “Yellow green sparks shimmer among shadowy grass fields, flashing like countless stars glistening amid the spilled milk of our galaxy, and fireflies who stray from shore resemble wandering meteors.”

For this painting I used mostly my favorite turquoise (blue-green) color pallet by adding more white or more grey colors. However, lighter green color was also used to highlight the real color of light produced by fireflies. This light is produced in their bodies due to a chemical reaction between bioluminescent enzymes and oxygen. Glow in the dark acrylic paint was added at the end to highlight the magical lights effect.

Fireflies represent self-illumination, attraction, positivity, love, passion, seasonal change. They also could be a sign to show appreciation for the little things in life.
