This piece is inspired by my love of butterflies that represent freedom and transformation. I wanted to portray the feeling of being camouflaged from the world. Sometimes I feel like I have to mask myself from the chaos that surrounds me. The butterfly represents me in the world and feeling different from everyone else, so I hide to protect myself. The vine is symbolizing the growth in the journey around me and how life’s challenges can distract us from seeing the full picture. The leaves are act as a camouflage from life’s challenges. I chose the color green to show how we can grow through life’s challenges and overcome what life throws at us. We all are on our own personal journey, and we don’t have to do it alone.
