Helping to frame this view is an audience of spiny Cholla cactus eagerly awaiting the stage curtain to rise on spring’s seasonal premier. Remnants of winter white can be seen on the distant mountains ready to melt as soon as the sun starts to heat-up the landscape. It can be an unforgiving place, yet its harshness can be forgiven with so many visually interesting temptations. This image was created near the Catalina Mountain foothills in Arizona. It was printed in monochromatic brown tones and framed in natural barnwood to emphasize the warmth, textures and colors associated with desert environments.
