Can’t believe it’s almost Fall again. Where did the Summer go?
Summer Camps are now winding up and the school year is about to begin again for students of all ages. We had a blast with those and extend our thanks to the wonderful art instructors who develop the classes each year. Thanks to Barbara Lance Alldaffer, Scott Rolfs, Katie Walters and Glenn Terry. We look forward to hosting your classes again in 2023.
Youth Classes
We are looking to develop some youth art activities at the weekends and are looking for art instructors that may be interested in taking that up. If you, or someone you know, might be interested please contact Kris Holtmeyer.
Adult Classes
Our Thursday morning acrylic pour classes with Sybil Swanson have been popular and we are in the process of developing more for the Fall and Winter season. These paint pour classes are a fun way to spend some time with friends before heading out for lunch! They sell out in double quick time!
Nancy Larson is back on the schedule with an urban sketch and watercolor class. This is selling fast and we have only a few spots remaining.
We do have three new exciting art teachers joining the fray, with a host of new and exciting opportunities. Keep looking!
We are always looking for more art teachers, and our Education Director, Kris Holtmeyer, would love to hear from you!
Our Next Shows - The Monster Show & Tiny Art Show
The Photography Show is now up and open to the public.
The next show scheduled is the Monster Show, with a costume party on October 27th! If you would like to take part in that show, please download the information pack and application form.
The Tiny Art Show is something new and exciting for Maple Grove Arts and we will be releasing more information soon.

Opening Soon - New Handmade Boutique Space
We are working on a new handmade art space at the Center. We are renovating a side gallery space to become the premier spot for handmade art and high end crafts in Maple Grove. More details coming soon and we will be open in plenty of time for your Holiday gift needs!
Arty Fun Birthday Parties
We also partner with another local organization to host kids’ party parties at the Arts Center. Please contact with Lisa Van Wyk to arrange the details!
Meet the Volunteers at Maple Grove Arts Center
Last month you “met” Kris. This month our feature is Teri Iverson
Teri Iverson,
Gallery Director
Teri has been the Gallery Director for the Maple Grove Arts Center for 3 years. She accepts the artwork, plans, hangs, and coordinates gallery shows, and attends the openings.
She holds an Associate of Science for Graphic Design and an Associate of Fine Arts from North Hennepin Community College in Brooklyn Park. She is currently working as a Communication Specialist for the City of Brooklyn Center by promoting and planning city events, creating newsletters and designing graphics for the website and social media.
Finding spare time isn’t easy, but when she does, she likes to paint and spend time with her husband.
Want to Get More Involved?
We are always looking for more volunteers and have a page here that details specific opportunities we have available.
Maple Grove Arts Center is a 501c3 organization and we rely on donations to keep going. We are staffed entirely by volunteers.
We have relaxed our mask mandate in line with the CDC. It is now up to you to judge your own level of risk acceptance. We are watching the CDC and the levels of transmission and will act if needed.
