This month is just a more exaggerated version of January! Snow blowers still fill the air with their hum, cars skidding to stop, or not, at stop lines. Snow plows out and about trying to make life bearable.
Now is the time to double down and take an art break! Take a class, come on down and view the art in the gallery, and maybe go home with a new piece of wall art. There is also the Grove Art Gallery to explore, and go home after treating yourself or a loved one.

Meet the Volunteers at Maple Grove Arts Center
Last month you “met” Kazimir. This month our feature is Valerie Coopet.
Valerie Coopet - Board Secretary
I have wanted to be an artist for as long as I remember. I even tried to major in art, but ended up with an art history and elementary education degree. No regrets though, I loved my job as an elementary teacher. My background in art and art history inspired me to visit museums and galleries in my travels around the U.S.A. and other countries. Nothing connects a person to the experiences of another person, culture or period in history like art, whether it is painting, sculpture, architecture or prose. This connection has probably been my number one reason for becoming involved in the arts.
If you’d like to see more of my art, you can see it at the Maple Grove Government Center until the end of March. I am being showcased at Rumriver Art Center from March 4th -25th, 2023.
Want to Get More Involved?
We are always looking for more volunteers and have a page here that details specific opportunities we have available.
Maple Grove Arts Center is a 501c3 organization and donations form a valuable part of our revenue stream. We are staffed entirely by volunteers.
