“The Dream” by Patrick G Beamish
“The Dream” by Patrick G Beamish
Part Two
I actually dreamed about The Wicked Witch ride, also known as Witch’s Castle. In the dream, it was more innocent and cute. I only had three college psychology courses, so I am winging it here on some theories. It seemed that there was a beginning, a middle; now I am trying to remember the end. I think I was with my siblings. We entered the dwelling, and this is where it gets interesting. Somehow parts of it were a mishmash of things from spooky TV shows that weren’t scary at all. There was a staircase and the legs and feet of a ghoul were visible. I remember feeling frightened. I never went up the stairs nor did the ghoul come down, so I never saw its face. (Perhaps it was cute or scary.) Then a few cute little ghosts, spiders, goblins, and a witch approached us. I glanced toward the room with the blond monster; it was peering from its door. While painting this scene, I decided that less is more. It’s unclear in dreams, so I did not want it too busy. I suppose my subconscious was helping me deal with these figments of my imagination.
