1st Place - Rimma Benson - “Fireflies Magic”

The layering  of solid and transparent colors creates such playful and whimsical movement. And the use of glow in the dark paint, with its fine green color fits so perfectly into this monochromatic palette that it seems not like a special added effect but an obvious part of the scene adding the element of an exciting nighttime surprise. This monochromatic work is very lush and bright and emits joy to the viewer.

2nd Place - Victoria Walz - “Mysterious Waters”

The thoughtful decision to print this photograph in monochromatic tones draws out the abundance of strong contrasting points which enhances the depth, and makes your eye want to continue to explore the “mystery” within the scene.  Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

3rd Place - Caroline Munro - “Blue Amphitite”

The artistic ability to blend inspirations and the attention to fine detail and use of transparency creates strikingly original work demonstrating a very personal and confident style that shows throughout the piece.
