pencil sketching 11” x 11”

This project of deciding on what inspires artists is so broad and subjective. I am into figure skating which to me has music, and lots of movements, other dance-like movements. It has been a year since I have gotten into it again after not doing it for twenty years.

Ice Follies of Ice Capades has music, bright colorful lights, shiny glittering colorful costumes, and different numbers that tell stories with all of the different artistic elements.

I am taking risks with entering these pencil drawing or sketches. Sketching, in itself, is the start of a lot of art, which is inspiring and it is the process. There is the art of risk taking.

This sketch that I had done of Jan Hoffman, was done in high school in 1985. I never turned it for a grade. I measured the picture, and I made sure that it was proportioned.
