Poised” is an abstract painting on a repurposed cork board, created with acrylic, gloss gel, paint sticks, acrylic markers and black ink pen. The natural cork texture breathes through every layer becoming the wetland itself. The foreground is kept deliberately subtle for the Egret and its blue shadow to highlight. Above, the sky presses down dramatic and heavy. Between the two the bird stands — perfectly still, perfectly focused. Not resting. Waiting for the one right moment.
