“Whispering Winds” is a mixed media painting on yapo paper using black ink, watercolor and water-soluble crayons. The ink captures the figure and her wild windblown hair. Loose watercolor washes build the blazing sunset sky and ocean behind her. The water-soluble crayons add warmth, texture and depth throughout. A girl stands at the ocean’s edge, eyes closed, a conch shell pressed to her ear — completely still in a world full of movement. Listening to something only she can hear.”
