I have always loved Marilyn Monroe. She is an inspiration and beauty icon. When I thought pop art, I instantly thought of Andy Warhol’s pieces on Monroe. I thought how the repetition created a mass media demand for how popular and beautiful she was seen in that era. My mixed media usage was my goal with this piece to portray a look of the 1950s feel along with Marilyn’s place in that time. I hope this piece takes you to the 1950’s.
