The flowers are blooming, the days are warmer and the summer art scene is beginning.
We have lots planned at the Center, including numerous Summer Art Camps, Adult Classes, the up-coming Arbor Lakes Art Fair weekend of July 16th & 17th at The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes.
The Still Serving Show is up in the main gallery and the Business of Art is all around local businesses in Maple Grove. Wherever, you go this summer, you will be surrounded by beautiful pieces of art. Enjoy!
We have relaxed our mask mandate in line with the CDC. It is now up to you to judge your own level of risk acceptance. We are watching the CDC and the levels of transmission and will act if needed.
Summer Art Camps
If you’ve not taken a look at our offerings this summer, you should get on it! Your child will thank you! We have a huge variety of classes on offer. Some old favorites and some new ones to boot! They are selling fast, so don’t delay!
Adult Classes
We have our monthly Thursday morning paint pour with Sybil Swanson coming up! If you missed this one, don’t worry, we have another technique planned for June 9th, “Reverse Dip”. These paint pour classes are a fun way to spend some time with friends before heading out for lunch! Nancy Larson is back on the schedule with an urban sketch and paint class and a series of watercolor skills classes.
Again, these are selling fast! Grab a seat at the table and have some fun!
We are always looking for more art teachers, and our new Education Director, Kris Holtmeyer, would love to hear from you!
Art Fair
The Art Fair, July 16-17th, is being planned. We are now in the final stages of artist placement, promotion and other good stuff, to make this a fair to remember! We will have kids art goodie bags again at the Maple Grove Arts Center tent. We are also partnering with Bitty Kitty Brigade again this year. Full disclosure, stopping there may you fall in love with a kitten!

Meet the Volunteers at Maple Grove Arts Center
Last month you “met” Kristina. This month our feature is Katie Walters.
Katie Walters
Advocacy Director
My name is Katie Walters and I am a full time art teacher in the twin cities area. During the summer I enjoy creating my own curriculum for exciting summer art camps for kids and teens! I truly enjoy sharing my love for creativity with students and love so see their success! I also currently am focusing on my own art in the mediums of drawing, painting, and street art! Art is something that is all around us and being apart of expressing, exploring, and sharing ideas is what makes art so compelling for myself.
Want to Get More Involved?
We are always looking for more volunteers and have a page here that details specific opportunities we have available.
Maple Grove Arts Center is a 501c3 organization and we rely on donations to keep going. We are staffed entirely by volunteers.
